The inaugural year of the College of the Arts (COTA) has opened the door for exciting collaborative efforts.

ATLANTA—Congratulations to Associate Professor Daniel Robin (Film and Digital Media Production) whose film, “All The Leaves Are Brown” recently won the Jury Award for Best Documentary Short Film at the 19th Annual Sidewalk Film Festival in Birmingham, Alabama.

ATLANTA—The graduate program in Moving Image Studies at Georgia State University presents “Rendering (the) Visible” III: Liquidity,” February 8-10, 2018. Conference panels, film and dance performances, and keynote lecture will explore the concept of liquidity as an innovative critical approach to the image’s relation to space, sensoriality, and digitality, as well as an aesthetic sensibility attuned to the political ontology of motion, form, matter, and noise.

It has been an exhilarating summer for the School of Film, Media, & Theatre’s Professor Daniel Robin, who travelled to Portugal in July to present his new film short "All the Leaves Are Brown" at the prestigious Curtas Vila Do Conde – International Film Festival.

Gearing up for the upcoming Women in Business North American Summit in Atlanta, film and game design student Alyssa Gilmore posts “The Illusion of Inclusion”—individual perspectives of how to change the film and TV industry to include women in more opportunities. Among those interviewed included Jenny Gunn, PhD Candidate in Moving Image Studies.

The Atlanta Mobile Music project aims to connect commuters around shared music tastes, and asks MARTA commuters to take part in a survey on their types of music and listening habits while in transit.
