FACILITIES
One Park Place
- Production Studio– The Media Production Studio space (2,500 sq. ft. with 17 ft. ceiling) is used for a combination of teaching and center production activities, especially relating to video and audio production. Our studio is equipped with a lighting grid, a green screen cyclorama wall, and audio/video connectivity with our various suites. This room also possesses a great deal of equipment for all lighting, grip, audio, and prop needs.
- Audience Response Theater – Our theater (1,600 sq. ft. with 17 ft. ceiling) is used for a variety of symposia, special screenings, academic and guest lectures, and audience-response testing. The 35-seat auditorium with adjoining projection booth is equipped with specialty projection screen, digital projector, lighting, sound system, audiovisual playback components, and routing system.
- Media Post-Production Suite– This suite is used for combination of teaching and post-production activities, especially relating to audio production and post-production. The studio-suite is equipped with specialized acoustic treatment, specialty task lighting, specialized workstations with audio-video interface devices, video display, audio playback system, audio/video connectivity with other editing suites, theater, and production studio.
- Production Equipment Checkout – This professional equipment rental facility is the home base for student and faculty production activities. In addition to the camera, audio, lighting, and grip equipment kept here, the room includes a desk, Mac workstation, printer, and repair bench to maintain production equipment. Production equipment checkout is located in close proximity to exterior building access, which makes this space ideal for easy loading.
- Classrooms 200 and 202 – These classrooms are used for combination of teaching and post-production activities, especially relating to post-production. Each Classroom contains 15 Mac Workstations with the latest audio and video post-production software. The teacher workstation is equipped with a 75” 4K Monitor and sound system for teaching and student critiques.
Twenty-Five Park Place
- Graduate Media Post-Production Suite– This suite is used for post-production activities, thesis research, and course work relating to video post-production. The suite is equipped with 4 Mac workstations specialized post-production software.
Arts & Humanities
- Classroom 406- This classroom is the primary facility for used for combination of teaching and production activities for FMT’s entry level students. This classroom contains 20 Mac Workstations with the latest audio and video post-production software. The teacher workstation is equipped with a 75” 4K Monitor and sound system for teaching and student critiques. The room is also used for a variety of symposia, special screenings, academic and guest lectures with its Cinema Screen with 4K Video Projection and 11.2 Digital Surround Sound.
Dahlberg Hall Theatre
- Located at 30 Courtland St. SE, it is the lively hub of our theatre department’s creativity, hosting captivating plays for up to 199 people. Beyond performances, it also hosts acting seminars, guest speakers and various engaging activities. It serves as a central space for artistic expression and learning on campus, welcoming everyone to enjoy the magic of live performances.
