Job Call for Atlanta City Theatre
We are seeking professional, experienced guest artists for Atlanta City Theatre productions. We are looking for artists that can provide the needed expertise while also serving as a mentor to students. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates will be coordinated with the Producer, Production Manager, and the Director. Not all positions are needed for each production. Compensation is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Seeking to Fill The Following Positions
Stage Manager
We are seeking experienced professional Stage Managers to serve as mentors and/or Stage managers for Atlanta City Theatre productions. The Stage Manager will facilitate communication across all creative and technical departments, assist the director, oversee sets, props, lights, and sound; call the show during production. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Intimacy Coordinator
We are seeking experienced Intimacy Director’s to assist the actors in the Atlanta City Theatre productions. The Intimacy director will choreograph any scenes requiring intimacy, advocate for actors and serve as a liaison between actors and production for scenes that involve simulated sex acts, and/or intimate physical contact or triggering language or content. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Fight and Dance Choreographer
We are seeking professional fight and dance choreographers to choreograph for the Atlanta City Theatre productions. The choreographer will work with the director, actors, and other members of the production team to create fight and/or dance choreography for the production. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Sound Designer
We are seeking professional Sound Designer’s to serve as a mentor and/or Sound Designer for the Atlanta City Theatre productions. The Sound Designer will work with the director, actors, and other members of the production team to create all the sound elements for the production. This includes pre-recorded music, sound effects and the reinforcement of live voices, musical instruments, and sound elements. The Designer will work with assigned students to train them on running the sound during the show. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Lighting Designer* (part of the College to Career Fellowship Grant)
We are seeking professional Lighting Designer’s to serve as a mentor and/or Lighting Designer for the Atlanta City Theatre productions. The Lighting Designer will work with the director, actors, and other members of the production team to create all the lighting elements for the production. This includes creating the design, installation, and operation of the lighting and special electrical effects used in the production. The Designer will work with assigned students to train them to run the lights during the show. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
Projection Designer
We are seeking professional Projection Designer’s to serve as a mentor and/or Projection Designer for Atlanta City Theatre productions. The Projection Designer will work with the director, actors, and other members of the production team to create all projections shown on stage for the production. This includes creating the design of still photos and filmed footage, working with the projection equipment, and coordination with the scenic designer for the production. The designer will work with assigned students to mentor them on the craft of Projection Design. Rehearsals begin six weeks prior to the opening of the show. Rehearsals and performances take place at Dahlberg Theatre, 30 Courtland Street, SE, Atlanta, GA 30303. Tech begins one week prior to opening. Specific times and dates needed will be coordinated with the Production Manager and the Director. Compensation for this position is based on the time commitment and will be negotiated at the time of hiring.
