ABOUT US
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower students to express their diverse voices through Theatre and Film Performance, while producing versatile, career-ready artists in the entertainment industry who contribute to a diverse society.
Our History
The Georgia State University Players is the oldest student-run theatre group in the Southeast having started in 1932. The Players provide performance, directing, writing and technical theatre opportunities to students and focus on collaboration within the thriving theatre community of Atlanta.
In 2021 the student organization rebranded in order to be in alignment with the Georgia State regulations that stipulated that an organization could no longer start its name with Georgia State. The students voted to change the name to Atlanta City Theatre, launching a new logo and website for the over 300 members as of Fall 2021.
Giving Support to the Atlanta City Theatre
Each investment in the Theatre Enrichment Fund, regardless of the amount, supports the ambitious goals we have for the future of our program. Your giving has a direct impact on students at Georgia State University by helping us produce the highest quality theatrical productions possible.
Every gift makes a difference and we thank you for your support.
